So. It’s been a while since I last made an entry. So first of all, my apologies for not updating for the last few weeks. Suffice it to say, some personal stuff came up. But now, I’m back! Hooray!
Blues dancing is much more than just a form of dance. The community surrounding blues dancing is one of the most welcoming and friendly groups of people I’ve encountered. And the great thing is, said atmosphere isn’t exclusive to Boston. Anywhere you go, you can find fellow blues dancers!
This is great news for anybody moving somewhere new, starting new chapters in their lives, etc. One of the hardest things about being in a new, unfamiliar area can be finding a solid group of friends to hang out with, who share interests with you. This is where blues dancing. Simply google “blues dancing” for your new area, see what’s out there, and go check it out! I’ve recently met people at the Boston Blues Union who came over from as far as California, and decided to seek out the local blues scene to help them get settled in the city. 🙂
So no matter where you go, there’s always a fallback: just find out where the blues dances are! It’s a great way to continue to enjoy blues dancing, as well as to meet new people, and maybe make some fun new friends!
