Blues dancing is not only fun, it’s a great way to blow off steam. Everyone has stress in their lives, be it from school, work, friends, etc. I’ve found that having a set time to go out and dance each week is a great way to “get away” for a little while, let those worries go, and just have fun!
This is possible in part because of the great community surrounding blues dancing. So far, I haven’t really encountered an big drama or conflicts within the community. Most people are simply there to have fun, and have no interest in doing anything that could potentially get in the way of that.
You don’t really have time to focus on worrying about other things when you’re blues dancing; you’re too busy focusing on dancing! 🙂 It’s a great way to take your mind off of things for a while. And not only are you dancing, but you’ll of course be chatting with your dance partner and others, such that you can just let yourself relax, even if it’s only for those few precious hours. 🙂
