The best way to learn how to blues and swing dance is to go to a venue and attend their beginner lesson, crash course, etc. It’s usually pretty cheap. In fact, it’s only $5 at the Blues Union on Thursday in Somerville to learn how to blues dance, and it’s free at MIT at the weekly swing dance on Wednesdays. Every Friday there’s a crash course before the main dance at Boston Swing Central, included in the price of admission, $15 ($13 for students). Barring that, you can always check out youtube for some beginner videos. This is one of my favorite crash course videos for blues dancing, uploaded by the user WeBluesDance. And here’s a video that teaches the beginning steps of swing dancing. If you find any other resources you’d like to share, feel free to let me know!
